Co-op Staff harvest-time indulgences
Celebrating harvest-time is all about abundance, so the daily calorie count can be temporarily set aside. Healthy self-indulgence is not only allowed – it’s almost compulsory. Yams or butternutsquash baked in plenty of honey or brown sugar, and pies from time-honored apple to Debbie’s traditional gravy should always have a place on the menu. You might not want to make a dish as rich as Tyler’s mac-and-cheese a staple in your diet – one is a Thanksgiving in itself – but if you don’t overdo it, you’ll be fine. Or, if you do, give yourself permission to do it just this once.
