La Montañita Co-op AuthorValerieValerie Smith grew up in rural New Mexico and received a B.S. in Biology from NM Institute of Mining and Technology. After college, she moved into her truck, hiking and learning to identify medicinal plants. With her knowledge of herbs and love of helping people, she soon found work at a natural health store. She started at La Montañita in the late 90’s. In 2000, she left to be a stay-at-home-mom and in 2007 rejoined the Valley store as the Health & Beauty department team lead. Surrounded by organic goodness all day, she loves her staff and co-workers. |
